Pitti Uomo is one of the largest menswear trade shows in the world. Taking place in Summer and Winter each year, new and well-renowned clothing brands from all over the world come together to further their respective brands in the menswear world. Held in Florence, Italy at the Fortezza da Basso, Pitti Uomo has become extremely popular, not only to menswear brands around the world, but also to "#menswear" guys everywhere.
For Beckett & Robb, Pitti Uomo continues to be a very important event for product development, and for meeting with current and new suppliers. In addition to busy days full of meetings, we were still able to get a fair amount of photography of us around the grounds and while walking to and from the Fortezza.
For this post, we'd like to recap our looks for each day of the event, highlighting what we wore and how it was made.
Jason's sport coat is constructed with a full canvas, soft shoulder, and half lining. His trousers are designed with a 5 cm (2 in) tall cuff and a flat front.
Jesse designed this MTM linen suit with full canvas construction, and a half lining. In keeping the jacket casual and relaxed, the shoulders were kept soft without shoulder padding. The trousers feature a tall 5 cm (2 in) cuff and are flat front.
Jason constructed this jacket with our most common sport coat construction- full canvas, soft shoulder, and half lining. The trousers feature a flat front and tall cuffs.
Keeping with the typical practice of making cotton suits comfortable and relaxed, his suit jacket is constructed with a full canvas, soft shoulder, and half lining. The trousers are flat front and feature our typical 5 cm tall cuff. His white shirt was designed with our tall spread collar.
Derek opted for a not generally recommended commission with this open weave suit. Different from our standard jacket pattern, this open weave jacket features more open and rounded front quarters and a spalla camicia shoulder. Trouser includes 5 cm tall cuffs (notice a trend yet?). The shirt collar is our semi-spread long point collar.
Jesse's suit jacket is constructed with a full canvas and half lining. The shoulders are cut wide and feature a light pad for a more masculine stance and fuller sleeve head. Trousers are flat front and feature a tall cuff. The shirt features a tall semi-spread long point collar.
With another successful trip to Pitti Uomo behind us we're already getting ready for the next show this upcoming January.

To the average guy, a suede tassel loafer isn't considered a "must-have" shoe. To most, it appears difficult to wear, or not versatile enough to buy unless they already have several oxfords and derbies. We on the B&R team feel differently and felt it was necessary to showcase how our Suede Verona Tassel Loafer can be worn casually to dressed up.
Below we've included 4 different degrees of formality to showcase how versatile suede loafers can be when worn right.
An interview with Kevin Salsbury, shop manager of Beckett & Robb, Denver, about the changing world of custom tailored suits for the men of Denver, Colorado.
What's your background in menswear?
My background in menswear has been in men's tailored clothing, with an emphasis with luxury brands, most of which were European. My personal drive...
We love our products. Our focus on product development is at the very heart of who we are and what we do. It's for this reason that we've dedicated so much of our time to produce a number of our own product lines, including our own line of shoes, outerwear, and accessories.
When it came time for us to consider adding eyewear to our product mix, we decided to defer to another brand for their expertise.
